Hello reader there! I'm Juan Roberto C. Balitor, but I prefer to be named Jay, a nineteen-year-old student at Laguna's Malayan Colleges, and I'm passionate about art in my second year of college. Because of the various cultures I have met, I have spent much of my life abroad and it has changed the way I see the world. In order to achieve my goals and ambitions in life, I strive to stay committed to my passion and to further improve my skills. The reason why I took this course is because I would like to teach in the future. From my own point of view, I am passionate about learning and teaching what I understand and I am very much open to other ideas as long as they are not enforced.

Having to grow up mostly inside the house was not as easy as it seemed. I had to find my own ways to entertain myself which is why I turned to art. Creating enabled me to vent out my thoughts and emotions without having to use words. I was able to illustrate how I truly felt at that time. However, as the years progressed, I got bored of it and had to engage in alternative hobbies which would be, watching movies, and playing online games. If you're interested, the current games that I play are DotA 2, League of Legends, Minecraft, Valorant, Apex Legends, and Grand Theft Auto V. Those hobbies are still full of media and it managed to ignite my passion once again for art but this time, I became even more serious with it.

Due to a short amount of time to figure out what I want to be for the rest of my life, I decided that I want to gather more experience and knowledge not only in art but also in real life. This is why I chose the course that I am in right now. BMMA will allow me to still continue my passion with art while earning money however, I also want to share knowledge from my experience that's why I want to become an art teacher. As I’ve said previously, games ignited my passion once again. The idea that I could create stories and worlds is just bizarre to me and I want to share that feeling in the future. Although I am still honing my current skills, I would like to see a future where I can hone my skills while being able to teach it to others. The years I have spent inside the house paid off because it allowed me to explore my own imagination and create stories in my head. Though I have long forgotten them, I am still excited to create new ones that will be intriguing and complex but still entertaining.

Above all that, I am still a student whose goals and ambitions are to be met. But that does not mean I cannot cross that bridge. There are many paths and goals that present themselves along the way and I just have to navigate through to find one where all my needs are met. Learning throughout college will help me find that path and growing as an artist will create a visible pavement to that goal. Although I am open to new possibilities, it does not mean I should take every single one because learning takes time and it is my sole duty to paint my own canvas.
